When a car is on fire...

Please stay away from the front and rear bumper. Apparently, some cars bumper are equipped with shock absorber which will explode due to the high pressure in the shock absorber. This happen to a fireman before as the flying bumper hit her leg and broke her bones into 20 pieces.

  • The heat increases the temperature of the air in the shock absorber.
  • Thus, pressure increases.
  • When the pressure is too high, the shock absorber will 'explode' and will create a forward projectile motion of the bumper.
